Katana

Engine:

Suzuki GSX1100 Katana with Wiseco 1428cc block, Pro-lite pistons, bored out crankcase mouths to accept bigger liners, APE h/d crankcase and cylinder head studs, and h/d valve springs, Roger Upperton gas flowed and polished cylinder head, Yoshimura 9.8mm high lift cams, 2mm bigger stainless inlet valves. Three angle valve job. External top end oil feed lines (original internal ones blocked and sealed), Higher ratio oil pump gears, GSX1150 balanced, pinned & welded crank. Straight cut primary gears. MRE lockup clutch. Billet clutch with h/d springs. Mikuni RFS 38mm smoothbore carbs with Dynojet kit. Twin K&N oval filters. Earl's 13 row oil cooler, Earl's crankcase breathers. Pingel high flow twin feed Fuel tap. 4-2-1 exhaust (Harris downpipes, home made centre section, baffle-less Cobra end can), Dyna coils/electronic ignition and rev limiter, Taylor leads.

Frame:

1984 Katana strengthened and monoshocked, GSX1150EFE alloy footrest plates, modified lock stops.

Front End:

GSX-R750WN USD forks and yokes - top yoke modified. GSX-R750K 3.5 x 17 wheel. GSX-R750L calipers, discs and master cylinder. Goodridge hoses. Stainless steel bars, Honda CD175 clamps.

Rear End:

JMC deep braced Pro-street arm (originally GSX-R fitting but modified by owner to fit Katana). GSX-R750L shock, disc and caliper. GSX-R750WN 5.5 x 17 wheel. Iwis gold link chain (530). Renthal front and rear sprockets.

Bodywork:

Stock Katana tank. Modified seat, fairing and side panels. GSX-R750WN mudguard. GSX750ET tail piece.

Paint:

Ford Dark Aubergine and Cagiva Blue by Tony Parkin and owner.

Engineering:

Engine built and set up by owner (174bhp). All welding, frame modifications, mono-shocking, grab rail, footrest mounts, brackets, mounting points and exhaust centre section by owner.  Polishing by owner and Prestige Electroplating.  GSX-R750L switchgear, 1100M clocks, Earl's oil pressure gauge.
