I first came across Gary Westerby's stunning Katana at the May 1986 BMF Rally in Peterborough.  The bike was being shown in he concourse area; I don't know if it won anything but judging by the huge crowd gathered round it it certainly deserved to.  The bike, at the time, was probably one of the first big Kats to have a Mr Turbo kit fitted but was also very notable for its use of 16" wheels.

The bike had a very odd rakish appearance with its tiny front wheel and tucked up turbo exhausts but the overall effect was absolutely astounding and topped off with a stunning green and black paint scheme and tank mural.  Over the following years I came across the Kat three times as it steadily evolved and it featured in several UK magazines - the Performance Bikes article is reproduced here.
